Dr. Connie Pennington, M.D.

 

Dr. Pennington grew up south of Roanoke, VA. She attended Ferrum College and then Eastern Virginia Medical School. She completed General Surgery Residency at East Tennessee State University. She did her Colorectal Fellowship training at the University of Louisville. She returned to Johnson City in the fall of 2002 and started private practice. Dr. Pennington is triple boarded in General Surgery, Colon and Rectal Surgery, and Integrative Medicine. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honors Society.

 

To further develop skill sets in complete health Dr. Pennington also chose a holistic course of study. Dr. Pennington began her holistic journey at Regent University in Virginia Beach by obtaining a Masters in Divinity. She has always felt that all healing is spiritual healing on some level. She then went on to the University of Arizona to complete a 2 year fellowship in Integrative Medicine. She has also completed training in Functional Medicine training through the Institute of Functional Medicine.

Dr. Pennington lives in South Johnson City on a hobby farm with her husband of 25 years. She raises free-range chickens and loves to garden. It is her desire to enjoy life and apply the healing modalities she has learned in her own life, as well as her medical practice. She is passionate about treating the root cause of illnesses and teaching lifestyle modification.
