10 Day Detox Success!

This January Dr. Pennington led a group of detoxers through Dr. Mark Hyman's 10 Day Detox at the Health Resources Center at the Johnson City Mall. This Detox is based on a whole food diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, and organic beef, pork, fish, and chicken. The meal plans outlined in the book are delicious. The plan is to detox from sugar, gluten, and dairy for ten days. Caffeine and alcohol are also not allowed. By eliminating the most common triggers to fatique, irritable bowel syndrome, poor digestion, and insomnia the body begins to heal and "detox." The program was a huge success! Comments included:

"my irritable bowel symptoms have disappeared"

"I have lost 8 lbs"

"I haven't slept this well in years"

"This is the first time my blood sugars have been normal"

The Detox plan also calls for 30 minutes of exercise daily and a five minute breathing break. It also encourages a daily detox bath in Epsom salts, baking soda, and lavender essential oil.
